🏗️ Word Order

In Korean, the standard order for counting is:

🍕 Item + 🔢 Number + 🏷️ Counter

Native numbers 1–4 change form when a counter follows them:

  • 하나 (hana) → 한 (han)
  • 둘 (dul) → 두 (du)
  • 셋 (set) → 세 (se)
  • 넷 (net) → 네 (ne)
🔤 Native vs. Sino System

Native System — uses Korean number words (한, 두, 세…). Always written with a space before the counter.

다섯 개 주세요 — five items please

Sino System — uses Sino-Korean number words or numerals (일, 이, 삼 / 1, 2, 3…). Often written without a space.

10분 후에 — in 10 minutes
